Pubudu Gayan

Pastor Pubudu Gayan, his wife Naomi, and their infant son, Caleb, serve in a small church in Walapane, Sri Lanka. Walapane is located in the central portion of Sri Lanka. It is a mountainous region with numerous small villages or communities. 70% of Sri Lankans are Buddhists, 15% are Hindu, 7.5 % are Muslim, and 7.5% are Christian. It is difficult to lead people to Christ because of the strong Buddhist and Hindu backgrounds.
They have been ministering in the Walapane area for about five years. In 2010 they built a small school and have a growing children’s ministry. Through the children’s ministry they are able to love on the people and share the love of Christ. Their primary witness is through the children. They come into a community to serve children and as they build relationships in the area they are slowly accepted. As the Holy Spirit leads they are able to start prayer meetings in homes and sharing the gospel with the parents of the children. Pubudu and Naomi are always looking for new villages and opportunities to share the love of Christ.
Below is the most recent letter we got from Pubudu and Naomi, as well as some pictures.
